Located on 70 acres in south-west Trumbull County is Matwich's Berry Farm. My wife and I purchased the farm in 1986, hoping one day we could farm it, We asked my father for his suggestions, and.three years later we planted 500 strawberry plants, selling the fruit under a beach umbrella. Little did I know that it would grow (pardon the pun) into a love affair with mother nature.
Our family lives here with our pets. We raise fruits, vegetables, bees and chickens. Our daughter Stephanie, and her husband Jeff, are planing to join the business so we can expand and provide our customers with more locally grown products that they can enjoy. We offer strawberries, blueberries, pumpkins and some fresh produce .
Our family is proud of our farm. We live here, raise chickens and honey bees, and grow most of what we eat. When you visit our farm take notice of the pesky weeds and insect population in our fields. Our fields are sprayed on a schedule with the least amount of fungicides recommended by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Herbicides are used only when the fields are dormant at the time of renovation. NO insecticides are ever used.
Natural. Local. Healthy.
